KWU football player selected as airport PR intern

SALINA, Kansas (January 20, 2015)- The Salina Airport Authority welcomed Daniel Moss of San Diego, Calif. as the Spring 2015 public relations intern. Moss will support the efforts of the Airport Authority team, as he completes his bachelor's degrees in public relations and communications from Kansas Wesleyan University.

"I'm excited to learn as much as possible from the Salina Airport Authority," Moss said. "The real-world experiences I am receiving will jumpstart my knowledge and ability to perform in the public relations field."

Moss earned his associate degree in social and behavior science from Grossmont Community College of El Cajon, Calif. before coming to Salina. There he realized his passion for communications and public relations. Currently a senior at KWU, Moss has been placed on the President's Honor Roll each semester and works as a newspaper writer and reporter. During his athletic career at KWU, he was voted a football captain and was place on the 2014 Capital One Academic All-American Football Team. Moss is currently scheduled to receive his bachelor's in May and will pursue a career in public relations.

"During the time I have known Daniel, he has distinguished himself as a conscientious and energetic person," said KWU Head Football Coach Matt Drinkall. "I have enormous respect for his abilities and leadership skills. He used his time in college to serve as a catalyst for a long and successful professional career.  Daniel Moss has been nothing but exceptional for the entire time I have known him and I have the greatest admiration for his work."

Moss is excited to venture into the real world. He plans to return to San Diego in order to be close to family and the beach. He will apply for public relations jobs along the coast of California, including an internship for the San Diego Chargers football team. His dream job is to work as a Chargers public relations representative. He is optimistic about his future career and possible challenges that may come.

Moss was born and raised in San Diego. He enjoys fishing, drawing, fitness and exploring the ocean any way he can. Friends and family describe him as outgoing, energetic and loyal. Moss constantly works to improve himself in all aspects of life and strives to do so every chance he gets. 

The Salina Airport Authority has developed the premier airport and industrial center in the Midwest. The board of directors and staff are proactive in providing the citizens of Salina, Saline County and North Central Kansas with a center that support business and industry which in turn, provides jobs and payroll that benefit the region.
