The Salina Airport Authority has taken the steps to put the necessary infrastructure in place, saving prospective tenants months in construction time, allowing them to set up shop faster.

"They are ready now," explained Tim Rogers, A.A.E., Salina Airport Authority executive director. "Each lot identified as 'development ready' has public street access, city water and sewer, access to fiber optic and commercial internet, Westar electric, Kansas Gas Service and in some places a dedicated city fire main."

Additionally, all lots are already properly zoned and hold environmental site assessments of Phase I or II. Businesses that make the move to Salina are able to do so quicker because a large portion of the work is already done.

"We do the work on the lots to be prepared for new business expansion and attraction," said Rogers. "Corporate real estate staff expect development ready lots in order to start immediate construction. Maintaining an inventory of these sites assists in the growth and economic stability of our community."
